Guest guest
Since being diagnosed with CLL 2 years ago and learning enough about the illness, I began avoiding anything that reduces platelet counts since this is one of the big markers used to determine when to initiate treatment. First, is this reasoning correct? I have minor arthritis and used to take a lot of aspirin to deal with this. Also, I have avoided taking anything after spraining an ankle, or getting a fever from a cold or overindulging. Seemingly all the over the counter painkillers, aspirin, acetominephin, advil and naproxen have platelet reducing properties. I would appreciate any advice on what others take and if using painkillers have any adverse effect on people with CLL. Thanks, tim
