Guest guest
My Aunt had Lupus and was on and off steroids for many years. We had a boat on a lake and I remember her always covering up completely when she went out on the boat. I also remember them talking about how she HAD to stay out of the sun when she was on prednisone. My advise would be no sun. I live in S. Fl. so it will be really hard for me but I already have skin damage so I don't want or need any other problems. Please take care and make sure you ask your doc.. I tell everyone here that the way you can tell a Floridian is that they're the only ones walking around without a tan. We've wised up!! :?) Guest guest
Your right on the money with this one Debbie. I learned years a go that it's not worth it even if it does look good. I take Premarin so am not supposed to be in the sun either. You blister before you know it, it has these directions on the bottle for a reason. Guest guest
I'm thinking back to my recent post about not being able to tan and my hair not bleaching lighter in the summer. Many of you seem so well informed on the reasons why. I know about the c-kit, but I wonder....does it affect hair color as well? I know we do not produce as much melanin on Gleevec, but does melanin also determine hair color? I wonder why my hair doesn't go lighter. Also, when I get highlights, they don't seem very light. I think it doesn't even take the highlights well. If you have any info on this, please let me know. Thanks, in NY
Guest guest
Hi , I don't know the reason behind it but I remember a study done years ago that showed some people who had grey hair, had their hair return to its previous darker colour after taking Gleevec. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2180244.stm It's funny that our skin turns whiter but our hair turns darker, go figure. Take care, Tracey > > I'm thinking back to my recent post about not being able to tan and my hair > not bleaching lighter in the summer. > > Many of you seem so well informed on the reasons why. Guest guest
Well all I can say is if it makes you feel better and increases self-esteem,why not,Part of what I don't like is the way this infestation affects our self esteem,confidence....,anyway that's my story --- dammitgrl2001@... wrote: From: " dammitgrl2001 " <dammitgrl2001@...> bird mites Subject: tanning Date: Wed, 08 Apr 2009 02:48:01 -0000 Ok, so I know ya'll prolly dont wanna hear it but tanning for me is therapeutic...i know all the risks and have tanned for years. This all hit me when I hadnt been tanning in a while...i was using self tanner, which prolly is full of the nano crap. So, that might be what clogged me up..lol. Anyways, I am now tanning at a salon at least 3 times a week. I have started putting the ESP balm(with some of bobby's bath oil mixed in the jar) on my skin right before i lay in the bed...OMG... it feels sooooo good! And I dont smell like that stinky tanning lotion we pay so much for...And they clean the beds with some real strong disinfectant so I am not worried about them getting on anyone else. I am real careful just in case... Okay, just wanted to mention it cause it's like the sauna thing people are getting results from. I like to sweat...and I feel so much better. chasity oh yeah, before i go I take my evening dose of vitamin E and D3's.
