Guest guest
Is this chiro older than your other one? Joan S OT-chiro help I know we've had lots of discussions about chiropractors. I had to switch to a new chiro due to insurance reasons and I'm feeling unsure. She does what she calls "therapy" before each adjustment where she hooks you up to this electric current machine and puts heat on your back. My last chiro only did this (the electric machine part) once during the whole 6 years I went to her and when I was really in a bad way. Does this seem strange? Is there any health dangers here? Guest guest
not really. Probably in her 40's. Why? OT-chiro help I know we've had lots of discussions about chiropractors. Guest guest
Well, I used to go to an older man (in his 80's or 90's) and he did the electrical stimulation/ultrasound thing too. He also gave this massage and his hands were as soft as a baby's butt! It is because he used vegetable oil on his hands to massage and it was awesome! He was retired and only charged $5 for this, out of his little cabin in the boonies. Let me tell you, this man was sorely missed when he died. He also birthed all of his grandchildren and some of his great grandchildren. He lived in the day when chiros delivered babies in their offices. He would feel my neck in a certain spot and ask me if it was sore and it always was and he would say, "you been drinking that soda pop... I tell you that stuff is bad!" He also could push on a certain reflex and drain your sinuses, lickety split! Ok, I am obviously needing to go to bed. Good night all! Joan S. who is going to bed to rest her aching back and dream about this chiro! LOL OT-chiro help I know we've had lots of discussions about chiropractors. You're paying her to provide you with a service that you are supposed to benefit from. Guest guest
I am a chiropractor and what this chiropractor is doing is NOT chiropractic. There are dangers to using electical stimulation and there are alot of studies showing that it is useless. You need to find a chiropractor who takes care of kids, talks about innate intelligence, explains what a subluxation is and does adjustments! You should be able to find a chiropractor that does payment plans or will help you out with the finances. It is my personal opinion, but from my experience the best chiropractors do not accept insurance assignments because insurance companies are more interested in making money than taking care of their clients. Good luck. >From: " & Troy Lucas " <lucasjt@...> >Reply-Vaccinationsegroups ><Vaccinationsegroups>, <APandWOHMomsegroups> >Subject: OT-chiro help >Date: Sat, 4 Nov 2000 23:51:47 -0600 > >I know we've had lots of discussions about chiropractors. They just start off every session with heat and electric stim. She took alot of time to explain all that she thought was out of allignment today and what she was feeling as she examined me. I just wondered of any health concerns from all the electricity. I definately would not be able to afford a chiro without insurance. Guest guest
If I was charging every client for electric stim., heat, etc. No one could afford me either. There are chiros out there that charge between $15-$30 dollars per visit. Your chiro is probably brining in around $100 because of all the " extras " . Where do you live. I am sure I can find you a chiropractor who does chiropractic as it was meant to be. If you want the electric stim you can go to a physical therapist, they are more throroughly trained in that procedure anyway. By the way my clients pay anywhere from $8 0r $9 dollars a visit to a max. of $30 a visit. I think anyone can afford these rates with or without insurance. Plus your insurance company can still reimburse you directly! We take care of everyone, regardless of their financial situation. There are always ways to get around the insurance issue. Personnally I wouldn't want an my chiro working for an insurance company, I'd want them working for me. If you would like I could try and find you someone in your area. But, if you like the stim and heat you can keep seeing that chiro, just realize that that isn't chiropractic, it isn't wholistic and it is a medical procedure. Electrical stim can cause electrical burns, rashes and effects your nervous system. It is actually meant to fatigue muscles too the point that they can't contract anymore to cause spasms and hence pain. It is essentially confusing the body and covering up the symptoms, pain. This sounds like the medical approach to me. You should find someone who is more interested in finding the cause of the problem. Good luck >From: " & Troy Lucas " <lucasjt@...> >Reply-Vaccinationsegroups ><Vaccinationsegroups> >Subject: Re: OT-chiro help >Date: Mon, 6 Nov 2000 17:02:32 -0600 > >I am a chiropractor and what this chiropractor is doing is NOT >chiropractic. >There are dangers to using electical stimulation and there are alot of >studies showing that it is useless.
