I had a respite from allergies while I lived in Arizona for several years, so going back into allergies just seems dreadful. I don't really think the colds I have been getting are really related to or caused by my pregnancy. Even drained (which is due to my pg), I still feel better than I did on an average day before my respite. Adrienne

Guest guest
Adrienne...I don't really think your colds are caused BY your pregnancy (this one) but maybe this pregnancy is just lowering your resistance so that you catch them easier. Especially if you are dealing with other stresses, weight loss, etc. I just know what happened with me... I had a FABULOUS pregnancy except for the fact that I could not breathe through my nose for 4-5 months, my allergies were definately worse, and I had the worst reflux EVER!...Every pregnancy is different, and maybe this one is contributing to or making worse minor health issues that you already had, or may be exposed to...Sharon Re: Allergies and Homeopathy > At 10:25 PM 12/4/00 -0500, you wrote: > >Adrienne... Increased congestion during pergnancy is very common b/c of increased vasodilation and blood volume. I haven't had a cold in ages, but every day I have to blow my nose just as often as if I did. I won't miss that when the baby comes!
Guest guest
Just have to chime in that my dh LOVES his " neti pot " - it has done more for his allergies than all the herbs/supplements we've tried. - Gretchen On Mon, 4 Dec 2000 10:19:32 -0900 " Sandy Mintz " <sandym@...> writes: > , Have you considered or heard of a natty pot? Guest guest
, I can't answer your question. I'm not using it right now and I'm not particularly worse, I don't think. But I suppose it is possible. Maybe ask your homeopath. Sandy PS I guess it's called a neti pot. Someone else wrote that their husband uses and loves it, too. Guest guest
>>, Have you considered or heard of a natty pot? It is a porcelain devide that you put salt and water into and drain it through your nostrils. It really helps to open up nasal passages. If you go to a naturopath, they should be able to tell you about it and how to use it. Sandy<< I've never heard of a natty pot but maybe if I see the homeopath I might start seeing I will ask her about it! Thanks Sandy! My only concern is do you become dependent on it. I know that with saline solutions for infants with stuffy noses your not supposed to put it in their nose much b/c then when you stop doing it their congestion often gets worse. Or is this solution something different?
Guest guest
>>, if you are getting enough oxygen, so is your baby. It is uncomfortable for you to breathe I'm sure, but you are still getting enough oxygen or you would pass out or have serious problems. So your baby is getting enough oxygen too. I wouldn't worry about that. Sheri<< Thanks Sheri, you don't know how much better that makes me feel!
