Guest guest
I recently had an extended period of cardiac symptoms including shortness of breath, heart palpitations, racing heart, skipped heart beats, and chest pain accompanied by chills and sweats. Echocardiograms (2 done about a month apart) showed showed some increase in my mitral valve prolapse, but that my heart function was sufficient. However my symptoms were so extreme that it was decided that it was probably time for mitral valve repair. While I was researching surgeons, etc. the symptoms subsided and are now gone, other than the mitral valve symptoms I had been dealing with prior to this episode. At this point the probable diagnosis is viral endocarditis or viral myocarditis. My CLL involves autoimmune disease. I know that there are connections between things like live virus injections and shingles and CLL. One of the possible causes listed for viral endocarditis and viral myocarditis is autoimmune disorder. Has anyone had a similar condition and/or does anyone know of a possible connection between CLL and these conditions? If so, any ideas about what I should do to prevent and/or deal with a future episode? I will be flying all of this by my CLL doc next month and my cardiologist is on top of what was going on and where things are now. He and I are wondering if the CLL is in any way related to what happened. Thanks! Pat
