Guest guest
I did the same thing 2 weeks after starting Gleevec. Clean bill of health... well, I'm assuming as nobody ever contacted me with the results. > > Hi fellow CML'ers and Family, > > Just wanted everyone to know that due to all the recent findings > regarding Gleevec and Congestive Heart Failure possibly linked to > Gleevec, I went ahead and had an Echocardiogram done. > > I wanted to have a baseline and also had concerns because I have > edema issues that aren't remedied with Lasix or Cholorothiazide and a > low salt diet. Guest guest
It's always a good idea to keep a personal record of all your test results such as, CBC's, PCR's, biopsies, kidney/liver functions tests, etc. Even tests like an Echo, that are related to CML. You have every right to get a copy of all your tests. Just ask. Guest guest
I agree with Lynn. When you have copies of your records, I think it gives you a sense of control and makes you feel like you're actively involved in your treatment. I suppose not everyone wants to feel like that but I like that I feel in control in some way. Having copies of your tests also allows you get second opinions if you choose to without having to bother your doctor.
