Eczema and Vitamin K comments/questions

RE: Eczema -- I didn't listen to you all when you said my son's eczema was caused by dairy. He was only getting cheese occasionally and no milk. Well, we went to my parents and my mom gave him a cup of milk, thinking I meant he didn't like it when I said "He doesn't drink milk." Well, he really liked it so stupid me, I gave him a cup of milk when we got home. The next day he had a raw bottom that bled. Well, he is completely off dairy now, and looks much better.

RE: Vitamin K - - If you don't have them give your baby the Vitamin K shot, and they do have some clotting disorder, isn't there still something they can do when they discover it? And wouldn't they have to have the Vitamin K a lot longer than they do for it to be effective for the circumcision? And isn't vitamin K actually Potassium? So you could increase your potassium in your body (and breast milk) with potassium rich foods, right?

From what I was told, babies with this disorder "go down hill very quickly".

I was also told it's genetic and there are indicators, so you would likely

be aware of it.

potassium rich foods, right?

No, I don't think Vit K is potassium (but potassium is K on the periodic

chart right?) but you *can* eat vit K rich foods - like yellow squashes

and alfalfa.

By the time they discover the bleeding, it's usually too late, mostly b/c

the bleedng tends to be internal. But you could look for signs like

a bleeding umbilicus.

It's not potassium. K is the abbreviation for potassium in the periodic

table, but vit k is actually a vitamin made by the digestive system.

If only it were that easy.
