Guest guest
I love that picture. Here is the rest of the story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/_Armas and a picture: From: Down Syndrome Treatment [mailto:Down Syndrome Treatment ] On Behalf Of Bolduc Sent: Friday, February 08, 2008 7:19 PM Amy Bright; MosaicDS ; downsyndrome ; Down Syndrome Treatment ; ; Jen; rebecca damschroder; Subject: Amazing This is the most amazing thing I have seen. It brought tears to my eyes. Gods Blessings Please read before viewing picture - it's worth it! A picture began circulating in November. It should be 'The Picture of the Year,' or perhaps, 'Picture of the Decade.' It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the US paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it. The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named ph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little 's mother, Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta . She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville , he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb. During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr.Bruner completed the surgery on , the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr.Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile. The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, 'Hand of Hope.' The text explaining the picture begins, 'The tiny hand of 21-week- old fetus Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. ph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.' Little 's mother said they 'wept for days' when they saw the picture. She said, 'The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person.' was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredibl e....and hey, pass it on. The world needs to see this one! Who's never won? Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. Guest guest
Carol, One problem with using rituximab as a treatment for CLL, AIHA, or ITP is that we just do not know the correct dose. In AIHA, the pathologic antibodies are made by normal B cells, not the CLL cells, almost all of the time. The thought is that by eliminating enough of the B cells making antibodies, you can decrease the antibody production. With CLL patients, it is possible that before any of the normal B cells are killed, you have to eliminate many of the CLL cells. Because of the shear number of them present, they are going to end up being the target of the rituximab. This keeps them from reaching the normal B cells making the antibodies. When we dose drugs, we target a concentration, which is not dependent upon the number of targets present. But with antibodies, concentration is not important. What is important is the number of targets to bind. For CLL, with the huge number of cells present, the amount of antibody needed is probably much more. This is true, even with CLL cells expressing less CD20 on them. Rick Furman, MD
Guest guest
Dr. Furman - are we to understand that if we attempt to control AIHA with Rituxan, the dose might need to be significantly more that the 375/m2? Dr. O'Brien had been working on greater doses, I believe. Would it be worth going for say, 750/m2 if your objective is AIHA? In a message dated 11/8/2009 9:25:18 A.M. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Welcome to the Lifelift Family. I look forward to you sharing your progress with us. Lifelift is amazing. I am an old timer to Lifelift; but before that I too tried Bodyflex and Oxycise. I did not care for either but because of them is how Lifelift came into my life. The rest is history. ; ) Before you get on your elliptical machine; do about 10 LL breaths; makes a huge difference in your results. Or do a few LL breaths while on the machine. You can incororate the breathing technique anywhere at all. Have fun with it! Nice to meet you and please do ask questions as they come up and someone here is always there to help. Here's to Lifelifting! Wanda > > I got my first videotape (the original) on Saturday and I have done it now for two nights....I honestly can't believe the very good soreness I have in ALL of my muscles! I've done Oxycise and BodyFlex and have NEVER felt anything like this with those. > > I normally have muscles soreness like this after working out for a long time at the gym...I mean, at least for 45 minutes or more really hard. But this is very gentle and it feels good, and physical effects are amazing! I can't wait to see how my body will change over time! > > I do want to incorporate the new Elliptical machine we brought recently into my fitness program, so I'll probably only do LifeLift about four days a week, hopefully that will be enough to see good results? I plan to use the Elliptical the other three days. > > I'm happy to be officially apart of the club! *smile* > > God bless and Happy Easter! > > Sheila >
Guest guest
Thanks Wanda! That's a good idea to do some breaths before doing the machine, also before doing my treadmill or bike.  You and everyone else here do LL everyday?
