Guest guest
Barbara, The Neulasta injection will not completely avoid the nadir, but it should lessen its depth and duration. You will also have a more rigorous rebound as the WBC recovers. It is unusual for someone to have such bad mucositis with R-CHOP. Usually this means either a problem with a viral infection or that you should have your dose reduced. Are you jaundiced? First Treatment – WBC went down to .65 Took 2 Neuprogen shots/ Levaquin 7 days. Worked great. 2nd treatment last week. Took Neulestra Shot 24 after treatment. Mouth is absolute mess again, very painful w/thrush ulcers/raw skin/ Using some mouth washes, etc. and WBC down to .4 (below 1) Hemo. 11, Platelets 79. RBC 3.75 Doctor put me on Levaquin 7 days again – said I couldn’t get any more shots right now. When does that Neulestra shot kick in? To have blood tests again in the AM. Feel awful – is this usual? He is keeping me on prednisone on a step down from 60 mg for 7 days./ went to 40 today and tomorrow/ then 20/ then 10 rest of month. My next treatment is scheduled for 1 month instead of 3 weeks. ( Jan 3) Does that make any difference in treatment benefits? Thought is was always suppose to be every 3 weeks. Just concerns I can’t help but think about. I feel his nurse is doing the doctoring, for I never talk to doctor. Had low grade fever 99.8 and under today. Dr. Furman, just little on Neulestra shot if possible. Is the white count to be concerned about? Thanks Barbara Nicklaus – ’s friend in Arkansas
Guest guest
Question: Took Neulestra shot 24 hrs. after last chemo last week. On day 7 WBC plummeted to 400. Test next day still lower - . Does this shots not work sometime? If you have had a Neulestra, can you still take Neuprogen before next treatment? Guest guest
, Shot finally kicked in yesterday. Blood tests this am show WBC up to 11000. Feel 100% better. It took a good 9 days for it to kick in though. Going to talk to doc about that. Mouth is getting better now too, so can eat. Have a good week.
