Guest guest
Dear Zavie, since you took the time to contact Novartis for me, I wanted to update you on my status on Trial 106. I received a letter from the trial center at University of Massachusetts stating that if another trial center would have me, then I would be able to stay on the extension of 106. It would be up to that center to accept me. I believe the center they are speaking of is Dana Farber. I remember a few years ago asking Dana Farber if they'd take me and I was told no, so I don't hold too much hope right now that they will change their mind. I contacted Novartis' website and inquired about my situation, but got a curt reply back " contact your trial center " well, heck, I'd done that and that is why I was turning to them for help! ( I just took their survey and told them what I thought anyway.) I was also told that the trial centers for 106 within my area - New England, have only 1 or 2 people still on this trial! I don't believe that, but then again, maybe they are right? I never met anyone on trial 106 at UMass, but two years ago I was told I was one of 12. Where did they all go? How is it I am the only one left? Of course, they say that is confidential and won't tell me. But I find it hard to believe Dana Farber would have only one or two people. I was also told that another center in Rhode Island was asked if they'd take me and they declined. So, it went from being that Novartis didn't want me (which is what this gal at the hospital told me initially) to yes, I can stay but only if someone will take me. I'd have to travel to keep the scheduled visits. I was told that I would be contacted again, but so far I have had no word. Just letting you know what transpired, and again, thanks for being so quick to come to another's aid. Hugs, Lynne A.
