Complication of FCR

Hello,

I am hoping Dr. Furman or any of you have had the same problem can help me. I

had two treatments with FCR. The first time my blood pressure dropped and the

rituxin had to be stopped and could not be restarted until the next day. A

month later when I had the second treatment, I started having chills and running

a fever on the same day as the rituxin was started. Both times the FC was given

without any problems.

After the second round of FCR, I continued to run a fever, and was very weak. I

was hospitalized for 12 days with neutrophils of less than 100, hg of 7.7, and

developed peripheral neuropathy in lower legs. I received transfusions,

neupogen, and IV antibiotics. Later it was determined that I developed

macrophagic activation syndrome and my immune system was hyperactived from the

FCR and would not be able to take it again. My neutrophils now are about 1000

and hg is 9.2. I need to try another treatment because my bone marrow is still

50-60% leukemic cells. My MD mentioned revlimid, flavoperidol, or another

monoclonal antibody. I really had my heart set on FCR because I have a problem

with 11q deletion.

Does anyone have any idea about what would be the best option for my next

treatment?

Thank you,

Marsha Glose
