Guest guest Posted September 1, 2010 Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 I just discovered on Wikepedia (below), the "Silastic" chin implant I received in 1968 is in fact a silicone elastomer. A chin x ray 25 years later, revealed it eroded my natural chin behind where it sits. I feel my immune system has worked overtime to rid itself of this foreign material. Silastic is used in the body for other applications as well. I did get fibromyalgia several years after the silastic implant.
