Question about stromal cells, AT-101

There has been a few research papers that suggest that stromal cells in the bone

marrow may act to protect malignant B-cells from apoptosis in their

micro-environment.

So why is this approach not being studied with more vigour?

Further it appears that stromal cells act to prevent purine analogue and

spontaneous apoptosis by increasing Mcl-1 levels.

In 2008 it was noted that AT-101 (gossypol) was able to overcome this.
