Guest guest
Thank you for responding Dan. No, I do not take ACE drugs now. But I did take Vasotec at one time and it caused a dry hacking cough. Mine is productive of losts of sputum now. --- Dan Hill <hvwk95a@...> wrote: > Carolyn, > Are you taking any of the ACE drugs for high blood > pressure? Guest guest
Carolyn, I tried to follow the trail of comments, but I probably missed most of them. There are many reasons for someone to have a cough. Two of the more common reasons that are often overlooked are post-nasal drip due to chronic sinusitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn). Both irritate the pharynx and cause coughing. It is most important to determine the cause so that it can be best treated. Chronic sinusitis is a common problem in CLL patients secondary to the hypogammaglobulinemia. There are many locally directed therapies that would be preferable to try first. I do utilize IV Ig in very difficult cases. I hope this helps.
