Guest guest
Hi, thanks in advance for considering my situation. I wrote earlier in the month, thinking that I was suffering B symptoms and would be soon a candidate for PCR. What ended up happening was more perplexing. For more than a month I've had a low-grade fever and low appetite. I had a PET scan which didn't show any activity, but there is a large clump of nodes in my belly. My WBC was low - 2.5, and I was slightly anemic 10.4. Other than that, things seem pretty okay, with lots being within normal but borderline. My oncologist was only slightly concerned about the anemia, thinking it possibly and artifact of whatever's causing the fever. My regular doc ran a bunch of tests -- Lyme and others -- to figure out what's causing the infection. He thinks that there's something causing inflammation that's causing anemia. Today, 2 weeks after my first appointment, I called my oncologist. He still does not seeem alarmed - suggesting that I come in sometime next week if the fevers don't go away. My question is whether this low-grade fever thing is oncological, especially in the context of not-horrifying blood results? Or is it just a stubborn summer bug? Any insights are welcome!
