If I need (okay there is no " if " ) to revamp what I eat in a day, will

the 1-2-3 show me how to do that? What I need is a nutritionist but I

went to one before and she was no help other then giving me the food

pyriamid (sp?) which I know - it's just hard to know what is in a

serving and what foods.

No, there isn't any right now but as soon as we find a house and move

(we close on our house here in S.D. in June) there will be although I

know money is going to be tight at first so it will be awhile before I

get there. That is why I was thinking of just getting the books to at

least have a start. They offer the at-home service for $100.

le,

Weight Watchers really won't tell you how to " revamp " what you are

eating, but in time, you will end up doing that yourself. The nice

thing about the program is that you can eat whatever you want to as

long as you stay with in your daily points range. But here's how it

works for me....

I am very embarrassed to say that I used to eat an entire box of Kraft

Macaroni and Cheese (one of my culinary specialties, I might add) in

one sitting. Well, last time I checked, one box is 27 points, which

would basically almost use up all my points for the day. So...I could

choose to eat it and not eat much else all day...or, I could choose to

eat other things that are more filling for the same total of points.

Foods that are lower in points are often higher in fiber and lower in

fat and calories, so over time, to get more food and feel full, you

make better choices. Does that make sense?

I really like the program a lot, and if I didn't make the silly

decision to remodel my folks' bathroom and also just get a truckload of

medical bills, I would buy the starter kit for you. I highly recommend

it.

Whoops...I just wanted to add one more thing. There is somebody on the

board who had plateaued for quite awhile with weight loss and started

Weight Watchers and is actually eating more than she was and having

fabulous results. If I'm not mistaken, it's Shakemybonbon.

it was Sandy's sharing of the WW point counter and her journals

that clued me onto the magic of fiber

as long as I can find mostly high fiber satisfying foods,

I find I *cheat* alot less

and alot of foods we may consider a *cheat*,

aren't as bad as we may think

and alot of foods we maybe consider a good choice,

may be as bad as what we are denying ourselves

I guess I sort of modified even the WW way of eating LOL

Barb

who can definitely eat this way the rest of my life

earlier posting and was keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope it

does so that you can start making new plans. I know how stressful this

Pat, talk to your doc, I dont think taking st johns wart is a good thing..you might want to add folic acid to your list, but ask your doctor..Patty

RE: Welcome new members

Vickie, be sure to ask your doc about the herbs. You don’t want to take anything without him knowing while you’re on tx cuz anything you take can throw off your labs.

Hi, Pat. Thank you for the warm welcome. I too missed the meeting. I had it on my mind all day but was still getting dinner ready when the meeting started and forgot about it until an hour after the meeting was over. I really wanted to participate in that meeting too.

I am 56 until July, at least. Will be starting tx probably in July. That is the next appointment with my dr. anyway. I'm waiting to hear what my genotype is. Hopefully it won't be too long before they get back to me with that as blood was taken for that test last Friday. Everyone in this site has been so good to me and I am glad I found You all. Reading the stories of some of the members has reminded me about some things I need to have ready when treatment starts. I am starting on St 's Wort and Milk Thistle right away as well as vitamins B, C and E.

I need to get offline as we are having a bad thunder storm tonight. We'll talk more later. Thank you again, Vickie

Hi Pat, It sounds like edema - a pooling of liquids(blood, water) in the lower extremities. It's common in HCV, ask your doc, he should give you diuretics - water pills. had erythema nodosum on tx & had to do for a DVT test to rule that out. I

Well I was hoping I could wait it out til I see him May 9th. What is erythema nodosum??? Leg isn't real bad right now lot of swelling has gone down keep it elevated, I know I should call but don't want to be on heparin or coumadin, I know I am being hard headed and stupid but unless things get worse I will mention it 9th. What is a DVT test? Deep Vein Thrombosis?? Is that the test where they insert needle in top of ankle and let loose liquid fire in all the veins?? Thats what it felt like to me both times they did it in the leg, the test for the lung didn't hurt but kinda made you hot and abit breathless. hugs...ww Motley <dmotley@...> wrote: I had erythema nodosum on tx & had to do for a DVT test to rule that out. Ask your doctor for a diuretic. I take two to keep the swelling down in my feet, ankles & lower legs. It helps but I wish they had something that'd do the same thing for my belly. I am fat only there. Legs are fine, hips are too. The only place there's fat is my gut. Go figure. SuZiepatricia <pandas2@...> wrote: I know and I know I am

being a horse's a-- but to scared to tell them it feels abit better today less ache and swelling. As long as I don't sit at computer or lets legs hang the swelling is almost all gone. Swelling in ankles and feet are normal for me when weather gets warm. Will try and go on chat tonight even just for afew minutes, i enjoy it so much. Don't be mad please...hugs...wwdannegrl <dannegrl2003 > wrote: Pat I Have To Agree With De Call The Dr. Oh Where Are You?--- Hepatitis CSupportGroupForDummies <dmotleybellsouth (DOT) net> wrote:> I had erythema nodosum on tx & had to do for a DVTtest to rule that out. >
