Dana,

I'm going!! for info: http://www.ocfoundation.org/ocf1120a.htm

Some of us are going with our families, others are going solo and planning

on sharing a room. I dont know yet what I'm doing - I would like my

kids/hubby to attend, but I sure love my breaks!!! in LA and I are

thinking of sharing - the more the merrier!

The conference will be Aug. 11 - 13/00 in Schaumberg outside of Chicago.

Here is the information to sign on to a list called Da Conference. Its a fun

group of people who are planning to attend the next conference. Its purely

a social list, which is nice for a change!

Dana,

My husband, my 14 yr. old and I are planning on going to the conference in

August. We haven't made any arrangements yet though. I hope we can still

get reservations at the hotel. Does anyone have information on that? It

would be nice if we all could somehow link up there. What do you think?

I made reservations through the Hyatt website. I gave them a credit card to

hold these

for me @99./per night. I had tried priceline first but their web site is

misleading. I

clicked Schaumburg and they put me in Arlington Heights instead. My bank is

disputing it

for me since they charged my card. I'm bringing Ava. We'll go the weekend

before and

visit my parents in Park Forest and make day trips into the city to sightsee (if

anyone's

going early we can meet and do stuff!) and then we'll stay at the convention

starting

Friday and fly home from there on Sunday. Thursday the 10th is my birthday and

I'll be

45!

I am really looking forward to this now that I know so many of us from this list

are

going. I agree with Taffy, the workshops will probably be good but I am going

to add a

new dimension to my wonderful friendships with all of you!

Noelle in NY,

Here is the web site for the conference: to be honest its not nearly as well

linked as last years.

I guess it will be clearer closer to the date....

Debbie, I never found the page you sent, but I did find in a

pdf file that I downloaded that they were having speakers

at luncheon meeting and Vaezi was listed as one of those.

Makes it even stranger that he was not listed with the ones

you sent.

Just to clarify, these weren't the ONLY seminars at the conference..... I just

did a search on achalasia and those are the ones that came up. There are

probably hundreds of different seminars.

Wow-they seem to be concentrating on Achalasia there don't they? I

will be very interested at the next follow-up for Stefan,to find out

what the docs have learnt!

My surgeon is presenting one of the sessions on manometry and A so I

was happy to see her there. Reaffirms for me this is an area she

knows about and is interested in.

I didn't look through the schedule for the whole thing... all I did was a search

on Achalasia in the " choose your seminars " part of the website. It's also

possible that the " regulars " are presenting info on disorders besides just

achalasia. The conference that Sandi and I attended last year covered all kinds

of things esophageal.... reflux, cancer, etc.

This looks like the Mother Of All Conferences..... I've been to McCormick Place

for a trade show before, and if they're filling it up with Digestive Stuff,

that's one HUGE conference!

Hi Everyone, Thanks again for all the helpful advice. I thought I'd let any one in the area know about the Lymphoma Workshop at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. It is on Oct. 7 from 9 to 2:30. The conference chairs are Leo Gordon, MD from Northwestern Hosp. and , MD from Rush Medical Center. It is sponsered by the Lymphoma Research Foundation so you can find out more info by going to their website. I can give you the tel# if you need it. Arlene
