Guest guest
LDH is found in RBCs, muscle, lung tissue, and lymphocytes. Some people do break down a little muscle with the class of drugs Crestor is in. This amount of change in the LDH is small, but the only means to know if it is due to the Crestor would be to stop the Crestor and see what happens. (Although, as long as you are tolerating the Crestor, there is no reason to check.) Rick Furman > > Hi,I would appreciate it if someone could advise me on the possible effect of statins (specifically Crestor) on LDH in the blood chemistry. After I was first diagnosed with CLL my LDH was 230. After that my Cardiologist put me on 5 mg Crestor (not related). About 4 months after my initial LDH reading and after I was on the 5 mg Crestor my LDH increased to 294, an increase of 64 points. About 4 months later my LDH reading was about 297, no real change. My Cardiologist increased my dosage to 10 mg (not related). After that my LDH increased to 354, and increase of about 60 points again. It seems like there is a direct correlation to the amount of Crestor I'm taking. Does anyone think it's a reasonable assumption on my part that the increase in LDH is related to the Crestor and not the CLL? Thanks for your thoughts. By the way, I'm also addressing this with my cardiologist. >
