Guest guest
Hi, This is my first posting to this discussion group and I would welcome some input. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with SLL and on "watch and wait." WBC, hgb, RBC have been consitently within normal limits. No organomegaly. One year ago, we discovered on a routine physical that my platelets were < 7000. I have had Dexamethosone 40 mg x 4 days x 5, with the first three having temporay success. After the fifth time (this May) I was treated with Ritauxin weekly x 4 weeks. At present my platelets seem to have stabilized about 58,000. A recent PET/CT showed slightly reduced tumor load and slightly increased activity. A bilateral BMB showed showed slightly decreased tumor load. My oncologist says he wouldn't treat me except for trying to get the platelets up and he is suggesting cytoxin, vincristin and prednisone. What comments/ input would you have to that treatment? Thanks! Ione
