Guest guest
Hi , I noticed this some time ago. Prior to Gleevec, my cholesterol was ranked as being " above average risk for heart disease " (I'll spare you the numbers because they're significantly different than US figures). After a year on Gleevec, I had it rechecked and it was ranked as being " below average risk for heart disease " . A year after that, my LDL and my risk ratio were both quite a bit below the lower limit of normal and my HDL was right smack in the middle of normal limits so in my case, there's little doubt that Gleevec had postive effects on my cholesterol. By the way, is there a problem with having too low of an LDL count? I should also note that my eating habits actually worsened after starting Gleevec (I took on a " life's too short to deprive myself " type attitude) so there's no other explaination for my stellar cholesterol results Love, Tracey
