CIG message to NY, NJ, and CT

Dear Friends - it is unusual that I'm posting several messages to the group in such a short time, but exciting is exciting.

Sorry that I'm sending this to all, but so many of you do not let me know where you are. This is intended primarily for members in NY, NJ, and CT.

My plan all along, as some of you know, has been to create local live events and local chapters for CIG. We tried in SoCal, but failed because of the huge distances involved.

But now I have an opportunity to create a chapter in NYC. Dr. Furman has offered us use of a conference room at New York Cornell, and the idea of occasional live presentations by members of the staff there, or from elsewhere. Can you imagine how pleased Dr. Rai would be to speak to us, for example? How can we refuse?

So, I would like to create the first CIG chapter in the NYC area.

Some feedback from those of you who may be physically available for this will be welcome. (Ellen, I'm counting on you and others for help.)

Ideas are welcome. I'd like to get this off the ground in the next couple of months.

I live in Manhattan and would be glad to participate in the CIG

branch. A networking/support group for lymphoma/leukemia would be

great.
