Guest guest
A general posting, to express some guidelines: A) We must all be very careful about offering medical advice to others. Remember that this group is primarily focused on discussing topics of general interest to CLLers. Of course, this is impossible without getting into discussions of individual cases, which is also welcome, as it can be very informative. When giving advice, usually based on our own experience, we must be clear that we are usually describing an approach that WORKED FOR US, or that we are telling someone about a treatment we HAVE HEARD can be successful. Such a TX may or may not be applicable to another person. None of us are doctors, and we must respect an inquiring person's right to gather all possible information and inputs, and then make his/her own decision. By the same token, I would like to address the other side, people who are seeking advice, and remind them of the same thing. We are not medical personnel, usually just folks who have been around the block a couple of times and have experience and informed opinions. So, the new person, or the person looking for suggestions, has the final responsibility to educated himself/herself, listen to our suggestions and thoughts, but make their own final and informed decision. Good health! Balan PS: I am very glad that the level of activity on the group is increasing, and that we have had some very interesting discussions. Keep it up! Guest guest
, Buzz: I also agree with that, even though sometimes it may sound otherwise. I'm trying to show people there are other options, other good treatments other than the gold standards. We are all different, none of us is the same nor our disease the same. In general we have CLL. The same, but when you dissect our individual counts and symptoms, in each case it's often so very, very different. So, to blindly accept that the majority of us should take the momentary Gold standard.....is a bit iffy. We should all do some real investigation and ask a lot of questions and get several medical opinions "AND" explore all the possibilities 'before making those final decisions. There is nothing simply about this dragon. The minute it starts to look simple we better take another in depth look. Regards, Kurt Re: Suggestions and Advice Well put Balan.
