Guest guest
Hi Bill - as you know, we're all on different and uncertain paths - I had FR in 2000, a couple of Rituxans since then, and except for a bout with a red cell eating parasite in 2005 (delivered by the same bug that delivers lyme disease) I've been in a nice remission. In the last 30-60 days, my lymph nodes have started to go nuts. My numbers are still OK, but I see the writing on the wall. I do not think your case is unusual, just one of many different ways this thing plays out. Watch it, and don't get treated too soon. W & W was valid at the beginning of the disease, and it is also valid at later stages, sometimes. As for the colds, if you get them frequently IVIG is in order. My colds, including the inevitable complications after, never last less than 5-6 weeks. Fortunately I get them rarely. Best, See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. Guest guest
: I want to thank you and Dr. Furman for your responses to my question last week and also wish the two of you the best in 2008. The time you both give to all of us who ask for your help will be rewarded. , this post of yours interested me because although we are all different as you said and progress differently, I may be headed in the same direction you have gone as to treatment. Would you mind sharing the details of your treatment as to timing of the Rituxan in relationship to your RF and also the results from the Rituxan. Also did you get the rituxan because of high WBC or because of other symptoms. My new oncologist has suggested Rituxan alone for me the next time I need treatment which may be in 2008. My rate of increase of WBC seems to be increasing although I have no other symptoms. Other counts are pretty normal with no other problems. I think her idea of Rituxan sounds good as I had little reaction to it the first time as part of RF. I was just wondering how it all played out for you. I was diagnosed 5/2003 and had six rounds of RF from 2/05 to 7/05. My WBC count was 308,000 the day treatment started in 2005. I had almost no problems with that treatment. and Dr. Furman, thank you both again. > > Hi Bill - as you know, we're all on different and uncertain paths - I had FR > in 2000, a couple of Rituxans since then, and except for a bout with a red
