Just passing along some information for those who are

unaware of this service. My dentist has been a volunteer in this program for

many years. I knew about it because I did some consulting for him a few years

back, but really didn't think about it again until it was time for Evan to see

the dentist. I knew wanted one who had experience

with people with Ds. Luckily, I didn't have to look too far. : - )

Evan had his first " official " checkup and it went great!

Here's my dentist's website for those of you who live

in Central Indy and may be looking for a good dental practice. (I'm in the

middle of re-designing the website, but the basic information is there). http://www.stokesfamilydentistry.com/ I know he takes several

different insurance plans. He used to participate in several goverment

assissted programs as well. I'm not sure what they are so it's best to call

them directly and check.

Here's the information on the national organization:

The National Foundation of Dentistry for the

Handicapped (NFDH)...

a charitable affiliate of the American Dental Association;

is committed, through collaboration, to arranging comprehensive dental

treatment and long-term preventive services to needy disabled, elderly or

medically compromised individuals through a national network for direct service

programs that involve more than 12,500 volunteer dentists and 2,600 volunteer

laboratories.
