Guest guest
Once again, as always, I shall stick my neck out, only to have my head cut off. Theoretically there is no cure for CLL, it is a chronic disease. HOWEVER, there have been "miraculous" reversals, there are instances where the disease progresses so slowly that you die in your 90s of old age, AND there are instances where a successful allogeneic transplant stops it. Everything is possible. Statistically, if you get CLL you're stuck with it. Having said that, let me comment on the CLL vs. transformation treatment. Dr. Furman has pointed out that CHOP+R, used to treat transformation, is also helpful in reigning in the CLL. I did not know that. So, we have a funny paradox. We do not usually get CHOP+R, as it is a heavy duty TX, not generally used for CLL. Is transforming a blessing in disguise? When you transform, like Barb, our "transformation poster child" did, and you get CHOP+R, and it makes your CLL go away (for a while) is that a good thing? She got rid of the aggressive lymphoma, and she's back on W & W for her CLL. Interesting? OK, Dr. Furman, let me have it...... Also, a further comment on the difference in Richter's depending on your IgVH status would be very interesting. Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges?
