Guest guest
I have a friend who just had a baby on Friday. He was born with downs and has a PDA. He has been at Children's hospital since he was born and is having problems latching on, his mom is pumping her milk for him, but she is wanting to know how she can help him to latch on and start nursing. Hopefully she will be able to bring him home by Friday and that might help. Does anyone have any suggestions for her? , mom to -15, Rebekah-13, -11, Gideon-9 and -6, ds/asvd repaired

Guest guest
That was a very good article Kim... sure glad they sprung us before she demonstrated the ability to take food and gain weight... that sounded really rough! It also reminded me about the lactation specialist cramming my breast in her mouth too. Nothing gentle about it. ) And she too had a certain position she could nurse in- for her it was lying down with my breast totally supported by a pillow or scrunched up blankets. She could not hold the breast and nurse at the same time. It was a very long time before I could sit up and nurse with her, even if I held the breast. Since all kids, and breasts, are different, it would pay to try to some different positions for nursing along with everything else.
