I have had my daughter with DS at University of Chicago Coomer's Children's hospital for open heart surgery twice and my 14 year old was at Children's Memorial in Chicago. I called the PICU head at University of Chicago when my 14 year old went to CHildren's last week. She called me immediately was on the phone with doctors at Children's. CHildren's kept in contact with her. The doctors at both places are great! I didn't know if we would move a to Coomer's or not. a's surgery is going to be at Children's. That all being said I LOVE BOTH PLACES! They both have great reputations too. I have a soft spot in my heart for Dr. Kahana at Coomer's. The new Coomer's children hospital is fantastic.

I read a little bit about your friends son's disease. Boys do better with it and it seems to have a positive outcome if caught in time. Our prayers are with the family. Please let us know how he is. Marcy
