Guest guest
http://homeschooling.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ & sdn=homeschooling & zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.webeans.net%2Fhutt%2Feduc%2Fjumptracks.htm This reminds of the frog pond game I played with my boys- you need a cake pan filled with water and two groups of rocks and a bunch of plastic frogs ( check out the dollor store- course you could use fish or whatever your child likes as well) You start out with a frogs on each side, roll the dice, then count out how many more frogs you need to add ( or subtract) to one side to get the correct number. To adapt this- you could have cards with the addition problem and then have the kids act it out with the frogs- I would have three piles of rocks, use one pile for the first addend, the second for the second addend and the third, then have all the frogs jump to the third pile so they can count up the sum. :-) For some reason the water makes this game more fun then just doing it on the floor.
