Guest guest
I live up in Northern IL and whooping cough is running through our community again. It seems to hit the teen group the hardest and last I heard the CDC is recommending that age group get a booster to put a halt to this seemingly annual event. They seem to sail on through it with out too much trouble, though I gotta tell you that cough is really something and not much fun at all. The kids most protected are the ones who have the smallest time span on their vaccinations. IOW- if your child had a booster recentely, they are the most protected. Immunity wears off on everyone 10 years after the last shot. If you, or your kids, have been in close contact with a contagious person, you need to see your Dr and get on some antibiotics, not just for yourself, but to stop the spread to other's whom it could cause serious problems or even kill them, such as young kids who can't tolerate the vaccinations, people with chronic illness or infants not yet vaccinated. Carol in IL Mom to seven including , 6 with TOF, AVcanal, GERD, LS, Asthma, subglottal stenosis, chronic constipation ( cured now ) and DS. My problem is not how I look. It's how you see me.
