Guest guest
· .Remember when I posted about this and said that the girls in the picture didn’t look like they had ds,,,and no one (well, except Carol) could find the picture when they looked?? Well, imagine my surprise when it popped up tonight when I was on my groups home page. · Down Syndrome October is awareness month. And here is the link for the groups Ds support listservs. http://health.dir./dir/1600395835 kathy
Guest guest
sorry Kathy, I tried to copy and paste the link but it still didn't work. So, I can't see the picture. But, I would imagine if the children are said to have Down syndrome and they do not have the physical characteristics of Down syndrome, then they more than likely have mosaic Down syndrome. Most people with mosaic Down syndrome do not have all the physical characteristics of Down syndrome because of the mixture of cells. And, often the individuals are misdiagnosed and told they have trisomy 21 instead of MDS, so the parents believe their child has trisomy 21. Do you know who the children are? Or, is the picture just something that crossed your path? Kristy
Guest guest
If it was the picture I saw in the message Kathy sent it looked like a stock photo of three girls. ===================== From: Kristy Colvin <imdsapresident@...> Date: 2006/11/07 Tue PM 08:13:42 CST Down Syndrome Treatment Subject: Re: groups DS awareness sorry Kathy, I tried to copy and paste the link but it still didn't work. Guest guest
No, Kristy, these were typical kids…which is what I thought was so funny. Kids/people w/Mosaic Ds still have some features of Ds,,,these kids had none at all. Cute kids, sure…but they are not kids w/Ds.
