It doesn't make sense that they would let someone go who generates No. 1 numbers. " Dan DePrims Advertisement LEXINGTON TWP.- Q92 radio personality " Igor, " who stirred controversy with a recurring comedy bit titled " Name That Tune with Mongoloid Mike, " has been fired. Thursday was his last broadcast with the Alliance-area radio station. " They told me they wanted an active show, they told me to follow FCC guidelines, and that's what I did, " Igor, whose real name is Dan DePrims, said Monday. " The general manager (Don III) thought it wasn't his cup of tea. It was a little too out there, too crazy for his liking, and he decided I wasn't a good fit for the station. " DePrims was given a five-day suspension in early September after advocates for the mentally retarded objected to his Mongoloid Mike bit. Callers were invited to sing as if they had Down syndrome, then listeners would attempt to guess the song for prizes. Asked what led to his dismissal, following his suspension and an apology, DePrims said, " After I came back, there were some topics, some games, they didn't agree with. " I was the No. 1-rated night show, " DePrims said. " It doesn't make sense that they would let someone go who generates No. 1 numbers. " A phone message left at Q92 for comment Monday afternoon was not returned.
