In celebration of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, DSANI is pleased to present

" Afraid to Look Down " , an acclaimed one-man play on Saturday, October 28.

" Afraid to Look Down " is a play that explores the journey of actor/playwright

Cullen as he becomes a first-time father to his oldest son -

born with Down syndrome.   From the website:  www.afraidtolookdown.com/

Cullen has played supporting roles in films as diverse as Sayles’

Sunshine State, Touchstone Pictures’ Big Trouble and Sony Pictures Classics’

Love Liza. He recently guest starred on The Shield and can be seen in a

recurring role on NBC's Scrubs. Other memorable television appearances include

Deadwood, Six Feet Under

and Alias.

He's written and developed for industry leaders including Beachwood Pictures.

Current projects in development include the hard-hitting Stone Soup, an

hour-long drama set in an LA Skid Row Soup Kitchen, and Knights of the Highway -

A Reality Series, produced in association with MTO Productions. He studied at

the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Florida School of the Arts and

completed an acting internship with New Stage Theatre in , MS. It was

there that he met his wife . He received the Lillie Stoates Award for

" Best Supporting Actor in a Play, " and shares a " Special Recognition Award " with

, from the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida, for helping

create greater awareness. Cullen lives in Los Angeles, CA with and their

two boys and Cameron.

The play will be performed at the IPFW Studio Theatre with an 8 PM curtain time.
