Guest guest
Having trouble finding the " right " therapist for your child with sensory issues? The " right " therapist is an occupational therapist that has been trained in the practice of Sensory Integration Therapy. NOT all OT's are trained in this. The easiest way to find them in your area, wherever that may be, is to contact Sensory Integration International. Tell them your zip code, and they can tell you who in your area has been trained, and certified in giving the SIPT or Sensory Integration Praxis Test. SIPT is a set of 17 standardized tests which measure aspects of sensory processing and praxis (the ability to form an idea, plan the action and execute it). It will help you to to identify where your child's problem areas are. You can contact Sensory Integration International by phone at (310) 787-8805 or visit them online at: http://www.sensoryint.com/ (look for the therapist database) Connecting Advocates to Answers at: Ideal Lives - http://clicks.aweber.com/z/ct/?ChCrgQz1Z6MSdzwATuCaHw Ideal Lives Project, 416 Frances, Enid, Oklahoma 73703, USA
