Guest guest
Sounds as if will go to University before :-) We're starting with Ginkgo this weekend. Curious as hell if there'll be any difference... Ginko? She has been on it for a few days now. Already lost track of time here, but I did notice something interesting that night. I was reading her 'The Gingerbread Boy' and only got as far as the horse when she starts to tell me " No No, read. The boy runs, runs, fox eats him ( there were a lot more words and signs here, but I didn't get it all ) and all go home sad. No read...." and she closed the book and picked a different one. I thought that was pretty impressive as she hasn't read the book, nor been exposed to the story since last winter! Just the sudden up in her speech was a bit new. I was told yesterday that she correctly ID'd all her coins this week too! Haven't really done much to teach her other then tell her what they were as she puts them in her piggy bank. Carol in IL Mom to seven including , 6 with TOF, AVcanal, GERD, LS, Asthma, subglottal stenosis, chronic constipation ( cured now ) and DS. My problem is not how I look. It's how you see me. Guest guest
Just curious, how do you get to take it? Cheryl Ginko? She has been on it for a few days now. Guest guest
Dear Alison, Dr. Leichtman recommends the standardized extract, as in Ginkgold. Many other companies sell it (with more or less the same quality), but I managed to find one that has been awarded with the price for outstanding purity, because it doesn't contain any pollutants. AND it comes in capsules, so you needend grind any tablets and dosing is much easier. It seems to taste some better, but bottled in grain alcohol. Have you tried Nature's Answer liquid....it's alcohol free. The capsule we're using now is Solaray's brand. Guest guest
FYI - price is $15.10 at www.iherb.com for the NOW brand, 60 mg. capsules. A little cheaper than the source listed. Mindy Re: Ginko?
Guest guest
I started Alice on it a couple of weeks ago, and almost immediately it seemed she was using longer phrases, more than that absolute minimum to get the point across that she usually goes for! When we saw her speech teacher for the first time in a month on Monday she kept remarking on the increase in utterance length (I said nothing about the ginkgo). So this is hopeful. I stopped the Bacopa, I would feel more comfortable with it if I had a better idea what it is doing, and in spite of reading a good bit about it, I never felt like I had a clue. Not sure, guess I'll stay off that for now. Guest guest
PS just checked pecanbread and glycerin IS legal so I think Gaia non alcohol would be an ok liquid. I'm gonna give it a try. Have to try everything veeeeerrrrrry slowly with Miss jamie anyway. I'm sure you've all heard the old joke about "oh yeah I bought some Gingko but I keep forgetting to take it". That's me and my husband:-) Sherry
Guest guest
I was too cheap for along time to buy a morter and pestle, but it was WORTH it! Every penny, and it wasn't that much. I use it for cooking too. Before that I used two spoons, but some of the pills with hard coatings would just go flying off the spoon. :-) Mindy Lee <leefam@...> wrote: I use a hammer in a ziplock.
