Guest guest
Way to go, !! Good, there is still hope that this moment will come for Isabella. We have been working on this too! She finally can jump into us without holding our hands.....believe me that is a huge accomplishment! But to swim independently, awesome!!! Loved the photos, thanks! Guest guest
where are the pixs??? i dont see them yet....kk -- Can't help it... I want to share pictures of SWIMMING!! We have been working on this moment for 6 YEARS :-) Her best friend took swimming off year, and swims like a fish too. This summer, one day, she just DID it. It was awesome and now she is so happy to be just like the other kids out in the pool going under and jumping off the ladder etc. She holds her hands like she is praying before she jumps, so I asked her if she was praying the other night and she said yes... "Jesus help me, Amen" and off she jumped.. now she has shortened it to just 'Amen' :-) Carol in IL Mom to seven including , 6 with TOF, AVcanal, GERD, LS, Asthma, subglottal stenosis, chronic constipation ( cured now ) and DS. Guest guest
I admit I am pretty darn happy! Worrying about the child's EARS- she has tubes. They said they don't need plugs in chlorinated water and not swimming at any depth- but I don't know. I tried the silocone plugs, but they don't stay one. I didn't teach her to close her mouth and she doesn't. When I go under an look at her she is SMILING under there LOL But for whatever reason, she is not sucking in water. She must have been at first cause her asthma just went crazy, but now it doesn't seem to be bothering her much.Roquemores <dtroquemore@...> wrote: That's fantastic!!!! Guest guest
Keep jumping! That seemed to be the begining for her too. It took a full year of jumping to come to this point. And I still don't know what spurred her on. One day a couple of weeks ago she jumped off the ladder, went under and hasn't stopped yet. That first day her poor little eyes were so RED and miserable!! I was worried and went to double check my cholrine levels to make sure it wasn't real high. ;-) She recoverd though. We have goggles, but she won't keep them on for any length of time.Caroline Skalsky <cskalsky@...> wrote: Way to go, !! Good, there is still hope that this moment will come for Isabella. Guest guest
Gee I wonder why? Did you see the pix of Joe and sleeping in the family room? The 'siamese twins' ones? I will try to copy and paste one and see if that works better. I did up load the file to the e-mail from the disc, so should have worked and came as an attachment. Should be a picture right above this line of text.Jill <thrill@...> wrote: I get direct mail, but I couldn't get them, either. Said there was no file associated with it or something like that. Guest guest
No, I couldn't get those and just thought it was my computer or some type of incompatiability with your program and my computer. Not sure. I also don't see a picture here...I see a box with a small red x in it where the picture should be. I clicked on the x, but nothing happened. Jill Can't help it.... Guest guest
I got the pictures the first time, but it didn’t come through this time. KathyR Ps…WTG, !! We are still trying to get Danny to let go of the edge of the pool. Makes no sense to me…he is tall enough that he can walk right across the pool with his head out, but he gets almost hysterical when we try to get him to do it…I know that there is some ‘conning’ going on on his part, because if I tell him that he only has to do it once, then he can get out and do something that he really likes to do, he will walk across the pool.,,,but he is also really scared..and we haven’t been able to figure out how to make him NOT be scared. He even cried if someone tries to carry him across the pool. He didn’t use to be like this..he used to love the pool…didn’t know how to swim, but he would jump off the ladder into someone’s arms, etc…but last year and this one, all he wants to do is hold on to the pool wall. And, no, I can’t think of anything traumatic that happened to him in the pool, so I am at a loss to understand why he is so afraid now. Guest guest
All these new spam filters are really something, aren't they?? Seems spam is annoying with or with out it. :-( Ya... I don't understand why Danny would suddenly stop either. I was SO impressed with his lack of fear of your pool when we were down there. Makes no sense at all. Did one of the older kids tell him there was alligator or something in the pool?? That has happened here more then a few times! ( Older kids telling younger kids something in jest and younger one believing them ) Didn't you sign him up for swimming lessons? Seems I remember you telling me that?Kathy Ratkiewicz <Kathy_R@...> wrote: I got the pictures the first time, but it didn’t come through this time. KathyR Ps…WTG, !!
