Hi,

I'm off in a minute, while most of you are slumbering the night away, to see

tims speech therepist. I am going to inform her that I am going to appeal

to the SEN tribunal about provision of speech therepy. She is under the

impression that 1/2 termly (6 times a year!) is sufficient! Sticktly

speaking its the LEA I am appealing against as they write the statement (IEP

equivalent in the states) of need and provision for it but they will only

provide what the speech dept say they will provide and haven't actually

looked at tims individual need. Also there is no provision for transfer to

his junior school in september so that is going to the tribunal too. Sigh,

just what I need at christmas!

On the bright side, yesterday tim did his first ever totally unaided without

direction or pencil lines or even idea, picture. I said go draw a picture

for callum, he sat down, muttered to himself " big round, dot dot, body, arm

arm leg leg " Then he presented me with this beautiful picture. I wish I

could keep it and frame it but it was for his firend to head a letter that

said sorry I bit you callum and hope you feel better soon!!! ok there was

in fact no arms or legs and the body was about 1/10 th of the size of the

head, but there was hair in the right place, and ears in the right place,

two big eyes and a huge smile. It was lovely and all the more so becoz he

did it entirely by himself.

Sue Wong, a proud mummy, off now to do battle!
