A brag (or two!)

Hi all,

couldn't resist a brag. Tim, (7 on Friday) as many of you will know, has

done ballet for the last 3 years. Sadly the day came when he refused to go,

he hasn't been for about 8 weeks now. I am very disappointed, I loved

watching him but he says he doesn't like it and I am not prepared to force

him as it is the first descision he has really made to take control of his

life himself. He also chose all the guests for his birthday party this year

and wouldn't accept my pleas to invite some of the less unruly members of

his class!!! Can't choose your kids friends I guess! Anyway, the brag (or

two). Tim said to me today, totally unprompted, spontaneously, unrehersed,

word perfect and perfectly clearly: " I want to do football " , " Play team " , " I

do football training " . Sniff, another descision to take control of his own

life. Guess I better do something about it, he has whittered on about

football for weeks. The brag by the way wasn't the taking control of his

own life, worthy of a brag tho it is, but for the brilliant sentence " I want

to do football " .

Second brag. On sunday Tim is taking part in a gym display locally. Twop

of the older boys who were going to do a demo of level 1 boys floor can't

come, so Tim and another younger boy (with coaches alongside) are going to

do it instead. They practiced tonight and were brilliant, hope they do so

well on sunday!

Great news Sue!! You do mean soccer, right?? Not the kind with pads and

helmets, etc. really enjoys soccer. Sounds like Tim is really

coming along with his language skills, too. Will there be a big crowd at

the birthday party??
