LOL, Jackie........I had a similar experience last week! I have two

daughters, 11.5 and 8, and then Jimmy (DS - 9.5) - my dear hubby and I took

them all sledding last week to a HUGE hill with a HUGE benefit - it's totally

out in the open, nothing to hit...... In any event, we took Jimmy down from

the top with us on a 2-person sled several times. His 8 year old sister

Hannah was sailing down on a saucer-type thing. Then we got daring and let

Jimmy slide down by himself from about halfway down the hill on the 2 person

sled. When he got to the bottom of the hill, he was laughing so hard! Then

he watched Hannah come down on the saucer.......when she got to the bottom,

he said " MOM! I want to ride THAT sled! From the TOP! "

Well, I held my heart in my throat and let him do it..........he had a blast!

He's gone out sledding every day since........ (this is my kid that

normally wants to spend 12 hours a day on the computer.......)

Woooo hoooooo! Life is good!

We went sledding yesterday also. was the trooper.

He just didn't want to quit. I like you worried about

him going down alone so his Dad went down after him to

make sure he got out of the way at the bottom and

helped him when he wiped out and flipped once.I think

he did pretty good but will need guidence this year.

Comes back up the hill no problem. Poor Dad had a

great time till later when the aches started. I think

with the snow coming like it is its going to be a

sledding winter. We have some plans to make igloos

next week with friends. will love that.
