As a result, this Patient¹s Guide to HIV Medicines and Guidelines for Their Use has been updated to include the February 5, 2001 update of the Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in HIV-Infected Adults and Adolescents. NMAC has produced this booklet for people living with HIV and AIDS who need the latest information on the types of treatment available, and help understanding more about the blood tests used to monitor HIV infection and treatment outcomes. The booklet includes a patient self-assessment designed to encourage discussion between patient and doctor.
