Guest guest
used a special pair of scissors when he started school. I don't know where to get them, but I can find out. They have cutters like real scissors, but the child holds them with his whole hand and squeezes. They are metal blades, but the rest is plastic that is connected by a loop. Hard to write a description, but they work wonderfully. I'll hunt around for ours.....I'll gladly mail them to you if you'd like!!!! Guest guest
's kindergarten teacher is looking for a pair of scissors that don't require so much fingerwork. Specifically - are there scissors that open by themselves - that really only require the squeezing movement? Do any of you have any good websites for school supplies for special-needs kids?? Thanks in advance. in Dallas
Guest guest
I think the scissors first used might be what you are looking for. They do not have finger holes. They work on a spring type motion, and have a continuous band of plastic that connects both handles. I will find out the brand name (we have had them for about 6 years) and post it. -- Sharon, Mom to (9, DS) and (5) > 's kindergarten teacher is looking for a pair of scissors that don't > require so much fingerwork. Guest guest
s teacher is using some sissors with him right now that have a spring that opens them and he only has to close them. They look just like regular sissors and they are held the same way. I will send her a note Monday and ask her where she got them. They work great! scissors?? Guest guest
You can get those type of scissors through an OT catalog. Also, I found scissors with a spring action at Walmarts. nancy
Guest guest
uses the scissors at school with the big loop, I'm not sure what brand they are. But I found a spring loaded pair called " Fiskars " and they work the same way. I found them at Bed, Bath and Beyond (not sure if that is a local chain), but I've seen them at arts and crafts stores, sewing stores and others. Good luck. scissors?? > > > 's kindergarten teacher is looking for a pair of scissors that > don't require so much fingerwork.
