Cheryl in VA >> We had a situation in a school district in our area where some parents of kids with special needs felt that the sp. ed. teacher's techniques were abusive. They ended up suing the district, building principal, and special ed. supervisor. The reason they sued all of them personally was that they all knew and did nothing to intervene. Complaints had been raised by other school personnel. Karyn

Here a teacher started giving notes to one of his 6th grade students and she spent the rest of high school getting them from him, she had his baby a year after she graduated , she was going to marry him a 3 yrs ago when she became troubled andshowed her parents all these notes she'd saved for years. Short story, he's gone now, it was the agreement that he made so they wouldn't procecute him (so evidently the notes did contain staements that could be concidered inappropriate between a student and teacher). The saddest part is ALOT of the staff were aware that this was going on.... Joy

Anyway, many bus drivers reported to the transportation department their concerns of this drivers behaviors..including seeing him pull off on back roads with young boys sitting on his lap. Had it not been for one very brave young man, this guy would still be driving bus. He's locked up now and will die in prison (I think he was 72 at the time). One bus driver went on record to state she had reported her concerns and the school did nothing. The school board immediately stopped any and all employees from talking about the bus driver. I can't imagine who all the parties will be in that lawsuit. ps before he was sentenced, he was caught trying to volunteer at a nearby hospital in the peds unit and a volunteer at a private school. He appeared to be such a nice grandfatherly type...NOT!
Guest guest
Forwarded with permission. Remember a while back I sent a note about a teacher abusing children with special needs here in Hawaii. Here are a few more of the things this sadistic b*#ch di to the children. If this were my son, she would have to pray that someone would have to have mercy on her, because I certainly wouldn't . Guest guest
Does the article say why they've let this woman go back to any classroom? Is anything being done about her? This is an example of lax or indifferent administrators allowing someone unfit for teaching to continue. She's not only a lousy teacher but a lousy human being, too. When my older daughter and some others had a problem with a teacher in Junior Hi, a couple of us went to talk to the principal and even tho the teacher was obviously wrong the principal supported him. I talked to other parents at that time who had similar experiences. J.
