Artificial discs

Maybe things have changed since 2007. Before I had my flatback causing surgery,

I was very interested in artificial discs. I had Blue Cross / Blue Shield

insurance and artificial discs were not covered. They were considered

" experimental " . Are they now considered a viable alternative to fusions, or

does it vary from insurance to insurance?
