Guest guest
Hello, everybody! Bless you for being here! Exactly 35 years ago, I underwent surgery for idiopathic scoliosis. In about 3 months more, I will be undergoing surgery for HARMS. In all the time since my first operations, I've been, for the most part, passing for normal. Inside, however, I have felt a bit like enstein's monster, trapped in the unnatural and impossible position in which my doctors left me when they radically reconstructed my spine. Recently, something happened that has increased my sense of freakishness. I went, as an outpatient, for a lumbar myelogram/CT in preparation for my upcoming surgery, and it couldn't be done. The radiologist couldn't find a single " hole " in my fused vertebrae through which to inject the necessary dye into my spine. I was told that, if the surgeon insisted, the radiologist would have to inject the dye into my cervical spine, but he wouldn't do this as an outpatient procedure. I would be very grateful to hear from anybody, if there is anybody, who has had the same problem or has ideas about it. I'm very worried that it's going to make my flatback more difficult for the surgeons to correct. Thank you, s
