Guest guest
I had revision surgery 11 days ago and am having an extremely hard time. I have been a lurker in this group for many years and have finally decided to get the surgery while I am still young. I had my original surgery in 1974 when I was 16, herrington rod, 6 vertibrate fused. Recently I have been suffering with sciatic pain, numbness and hip pain so I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I am 49 and had my surgery in Buffalo, NY with Dr. Hamill. Up to about a year ago I was absolutely pain free, then all of a sudden I went downhill. I am very active, I have a small farm with horses & cats & dogs. Mother of 4, two of which are still home. I know that I need to be patient, but I live from pain pill to pain pill, and am having a very difficult time with constipation. I am fused from t-1 to sacrum and the dr went through my back and my stomach during my 10 hr surgery. I am on Lortab 7.5 every 4 hours but it doesn't seem to touch the pain. My hips are so sore from lieing on them in bed. Just need some encouragement from someone who has been through this.
