Hi Kathy

Rich has had dental x-rays since diagnosis. He is also having a

chest x-ray tomorrow for the BMS trial in Germany. Don't think

there is a problem with x-rays.

Best wishes

Annette

Hi Kathy,

I personally do avoid them and always have, even long before CML.

If the dentist can give me a good reason to have one, then I will,

but just for the sake of doing one, I won't.

Without exception, at every one of my visits she'll ask me " do you

mind if we do an xray? " and I always say " no thanks, I don't want

one " . The only time I did agree was after having a tooth pulled and

she needed to see if any of the root was left up in the gum. I

thought that was a reasonable reason for doing it so I did.

But like I always say " to each his own. "

Take care,

Tracey

Hi Kathy,

For me, I do all the things that I would have normally done, even

before the CML. I go in every 6 months for dental

cleanings/checkups, and do dental x-rays on the dentist's regular

schedule.

Since diagnosis, I've also had a chest x-ray, cat scan, and an annual

mamogram.

I feel like CML is a chronic disease now, and so I'm just taking care

of the rest of the body and making sure other things don't go

haywire. I don't think anybody likes having x-rays, but I don't

think I've had excessive exposure either.

Just my thoughts, and I realize that everyone is different.

Sincerely, Lynn

Joe,

You may very well have hit the nail on the head. I'll have to

investigate.

I don't think there are any in my area. But I will start looking.

Here is a good source to find dentists. Those who perform the Huggins

Protocol are mostly biological dentists and they are well aware of

the damage X-rays cause. Heavy metal intoxification will prevent any

real changes in the internal environment leading to restored health

if these metals are not properly eliminated from the body.

Arlyn -

Are you in Florida? I know of a couple of really awesome bio dentists

in FL - Dr. Green and Dr. - I could get you their info if you

want.

Fishsalmon,

i would love the info! Thanks!

I'm in Orlando. So far, my surfing has found one doctor, but I haven't

had a chance to search too much yet.

You just need to be adamant and explain that you don't want X-rays. I've been

going to the same guy for 37 years and they know I don't want X-Rays so I don't

get them!

You don't need X-Rays to clean teeth. Be diplomatic and explain that 'you

understand they have your best interests at heart but humor me.' It works.

Joe,

I've had the same argument with the man for four years. That's why I am

looking for another dentist.

Believe me, I've tried your suggestion over and over.

Joe - You are right, I would only add that for those that may need an

xray for any other reason, to make sure that the thyroid is also

protected from the radiation, not just the chest area - unfortunately

many dentists still don't do this.

Arlyn - Unfortunately it comes down to dentists covering their butts -

that's why you are having a hard time. Even if you offered to sign

something indicating you refused, many still get freaked about not

following ADA protocols to a " T " .

I refuse to have xrays but am blessed with someone who won't argue the

point.

You are better off with a new dentist.......cathy

It's never too late to change. I simply repeat what the VA Radiologist told me

in 1952..... " You've had your life's share of X-Rays " . When they try to tell

me that it's the same dose one gets walking down the street, I simply repeat

the story and say no. Now, I'm going to tell you........and from our view,

it fits: 'You have received your life's share of X-Rays and you should limit

any future X-Rays, from any source, to those emergency only situations " .

Now you can honestly say you were advised.
