Guest guest
I am just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their kids and anxiety following the correction surgery? My son had a T2 thru L3 instrumentation almost 2 years ago, 3 days after his 16th birthday. During and after the long recovery period, I realized he was struggling with anxiety and depression. I have tried to deal with it myself but have recently taken him to his family doctor and we are now waiting for a referral to a psychologist. When I look up post traumatic stress disorder, it sounds like they are describing my son. I know its not a good idea to self diagnose and googling symptoms is not the way to a clinical diagnosis...in fact, I discourage people from googling symptoms! I'm just looking for some answers. I would assume, if this is a common thing for kids following the surgery, that someone would have mentioned it to me. However, I have been bitten in the ass in the past by making assumptions about the common sense practiced in the health care system! There may not be a correlation at all, but I was just curious if anyone else's child has had this struggle following their correction? Thanks, (and Matt too)
