It's probably not a good idea to take it within a couple of hours if IM though, and drink any alcohol within at least 4 hours either. Do take it with food. Alcohol, IM and motrin (and all the so-called NSAIDs, or " non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) all irritate the stomach lining; taken together they could cause a stomach ulcer - or at least some pretty severe heartburn.
