Guest guest
Llewyn, My reasons for applying for a service dog are pretty simple. I'm 60 years old now and know that this is as good as it gets. I am anticipating more pain in the future as well as decreased mobility. My stamina is already poor. Another reason is that I absolutely love dogs. I have two basset hounds and they are my constant companions. Unfortunately, bassets are stubborn and couldn't assist me in any way. They are cuddlers and clowns and make me laugh every day. During the application process it was important that I prove I know how to handle a dog, hence the statement from our vetrenarian. I have also read stories over the years about how much these dogs do for people. I decided to apply now because the process takes a year or more and I didn't want to wait if I should become more poorly. I know is grinding her teeth at my use of " poorly " but I can't think of any other descriptive word. Hope this helps. Barbara
