Feisty friends,

Please excuse a slight digression in the interest of comic relief.

My newspaper's trivia page recently exposed the origin of the

word " feisty " . It is from an old word " feist " , which refers to a

small dog. An online " word-detective " site further describes

a " feist " as being a noisy, contentious little mongrel dog.

R-r-r-r-UFF!

Here's to all the feisty ones! Though we be not small, may our noisy, contentious voices continue to be heard throughout the land in the effort that we be noticed, understood, and supported!
