On the subject of exercise, I especially want to thank those members who

wrote about comparing themselves with their elders. This is especially

demoralizing for me. As I wrote to someone this morning, there are

people 10-25 years older than I am at my fitness center who seem to

breeze through the extremely energetic water aerobics classes, then do

the 45-minute arthritis session that follows as a " cooldown. " Yet that

last session is the max I can personally handle.

Let this be a lesson to me that it never pays to compare myself with

others. As people who wrote about this have also helpfully advised me, I

need to do what feels right for me -- at least right now, the arthritis

regimen several times a week -- and stop indicting myself for failing to

hack the cool classes with names like Aqua Blast and Aqua Zumba.

Thanks, guys,
